The site also has a dedicated forum where tenants can ask questions to Julien himself or interact with other visitors.

Interestingly, unlike other apartment-hunting sites where it’s the property themselves that upload pages of their listings, it’s Julien himself who wrote the pages on individual apartments. He has been going around Jakarta and staying in apartments before they review them on his blog. As a result, his site is more tenant-focused and more attentive towards comfort, convenience, and suitability of price. 

Julien makes two types of reviews: full review and mini-review. The full one has a Wikipedia-style layout with all reviewed aspects divided into five subgroups: Location, Building Quality, Comfort and Management, and Room and Prices. To further enhance his review, Julien takes great lengths in including complete photos of the building. At the end of the page, Julien rates the apartment from 1 to 5 and list what he liked and didn’t like from the apartment. The mini-reviews are mostly the same, albeit without the Wikipedia-style layout.

For those who don’t mind basic filters as long as they can get good deals with trustworthy landowners, rumah123.com is worth looking at. Rumah123.com is recommended for experienced apartment-seekers looking for spaces with a specific size in mind. 

Properties have their own pages on the websites complete with digital brochures and unit specifications. However, you may find better deals if you get in touch with individual agents who usually have multiple spaces across different properties.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch for non-Indonesian speakers: the site may be available in English, but the descriptions and property details on individual pages for listings are mostly provided in Indonesian. To get more information in English, you need to directly contact individual agents or property customer service agents whose numbers are provided on the listing’s page.
