1. Namaaz Dining

Undeniably one of the most famous fine-dining destinations in Indonesia, Namaaz Dining is the first molecular gastronomy restaurant in Indonesia where you can enjoy a set of 17 courses of dishes cooked with molecular gastronomy techniques for around 2-3 hours. It is well-known among both locals and tourists, as ex-pats will consider a 17-course meal for less than US $100 as a steal deal. The background music, the lighting, the complete darkness, the overall ambiance of the place basically, creates a sense of curiosity for its guests, making them always excited about what will come up next.

This place is a must-visit for both romantic couples and insta-foodies, as each dish will be served personally by the chefs, and they will explain the philosophy and ingredients of each dish also instruction on how to eat it. They also change their dishes theme every once 6 to 8 months, so visiting Namaaz just once may not be enough! 2. 71^st

This place is not your ordinary Omakase destination. Omakase restaurants have always been associated with a Japanese concept, but 71^st offers a brand new experience instead. Its elegant and luxurious interiors will make you feel as if you are eating in one of the fine dining restaurants in Manhattan. It has both outdoor and indoor seating areas, as well as VIP private rooms that are perfect for business meetings, and open kitchen area where you can experience having your Omakase meal while seeing the chef cook the dishes for you exclusively.

Besides their interiors, 71st also offers western and European dishes as an ala carte option, in addition to their Omakase set menu. If you are looking for a lighter meal, we would suggest you try out their Say Cheeseeee! which is a ravioli filled with ready-to-explode mascarpone cheese, parmesan foam, and a generous amount of cheese fondue, or their Ocean Meet Land which is a wave of Norwegian salmon, earthy purple potato, braised vegetables, beurre blanc sauce, and an ocean thyme foam. However, if you would like to get the best experience, we recommend you to try out their Omakase set menu instead, which consists of 13 dishes, including appetizer and dessert. Make sure to reserve your tables maximum a day before visiting though, because they don’t serve Omakase for unreserved guests.

3. Bistecca

Being part of the Union Group, Bistecca is a premium steakhouse in Kebayoran Baru that is famous for both its steak’s quality as well as it’s luxurious, Instagram-able place. The place has a classic and vintage vibe, as it is decorated with chandelier lamps and wooden furniture. It also has a vintage bar area that is the same as the ones you usually see in classical European movies, making it the perfect destination for a romantic date night or an important occasion.

As for the food, we would recommend you to order their Steak Tenderloin Australian Black Angus, as the meat is juicy and has a thick texture that melts in your mouth. We also recommend you order their side dishes such as fries and truffle mac and cheese that goes well with this steak. However, if you would like to try out their non-steak menu, we would recommend you order their Florentine Butter Chicken, which is served in a hotplate. The meat has a crispy texture on the outside, and yet the inside is very juicy and tender. It also smells good! Yum!

4. Amuz Gourmet

Named Restaurant of the Year at the second installment of Jakarta’s Best Eats Awards, Amuz Gourmet is a French restaurant located in the SCBD area that is well known not just for its Contemporary French Cuisine, but also for its very romantic ambiance. Aside from being spacious, Amuz also has an exclusive and elegant ambiance, making it the perfect option for a formal dinner event or a romantic date night.

Amuz serves both an ala carte and a set menu. For their ala carte menu, we recommend you to try their Le Steak Frites, which is a 180 gram grilled black Angus grain-fed beef sirloin, served with French fries, mesclun lettuce, and marchand de vin sauce. The steak is thick and it is not oily at all! However, if you want to have the best experience, we recommend you go for the set menu, which is their 2-set dinner set course, which includes 2 appetizers, 2 main courses, and 2 desserts. To complete your romantic night, with just an additional amount of IDR 750k, you can also upgrade your option to having your dinner served with wine. Perfect!

5. Sofia At The Gunawarman

If you are looking for an affordable, yet Instagram-able fine dining destination in Kebayoran Baru, Sofia is your answer! It is well known for its pretty interiors, as being in Sofia will make you feel as if you are dining in a classical castle. The place gives off an elegant and chic feel, so make sure you dress up before coming here! Visitors even say that this place is equivalent to the classy version of Madam Puddifoot’s Tea Shop from Harry Potter!

The restaurant serves a variety of western, European, and Asian cuisines. For seafood lovers, we recommend you to order their baked barramundi, which includes not just a softly-baked barramundi fish but is also served with baby roast potatoes, creamed spinach, and lemon. If you are a steak-lover however, we suggest you go for their short rib wagyu, that is served with butter rice, eggs, and onion rings.
