Your Guide to East Jakarta

East Jakarta is one of the five administrative cities in Jakarta. East Jakarta is one of the most populous areas in Jakarta. It is bordered by another area which is Depok and Bekasi. It is not self-governed so this area doesn’t have city council like any other area in Jakarta. The mayor’s office is located in the Jatinegara area. East Jakarta is divided into 10 districts which are Matraman, Pulo Gadung, Jatinegara, Duren Sawit, Kramat Jati, Makasar, Pasar Rebo, Ciracas, Cipayung, and Cakung. The transportation facilities in East Jakarta including Halim Perdana Kusuma International Airport, Kampung Rambutan Bus terminal, and Pulogebang inter-city & province bus terminal. There are so many attractions to visit in the area of East Jakarta but this area is quite prone to flood. East Jakarta is populated with more than 2 million people. Talking about what to do, it will not be enough if we do not talk about food. There are also several culinary centers that you can try in the East Jakarta area.  Below are some of the recommendations to eat in East Jakarta including Penyetan Cok in Mall Basura City, Steak 21 where they sell quite affordable prices for a portion of steak, and Ayam Pustaka at Jalan Balai Pustaka. There are also a lot of middle easter restaurants that you can try in this restaurant such as Handramiah and Abunawas Restaurant. It serves biryani rice, lamb, curry, and many more.
