Talking about East Jakarta, it is not the main area for international schools like in elite areas such as South Jakarta or North Jakarta. But, if you happen to live in East Jakarta doesn’t mean you cannot get high quality of international schools or national plus schools. There are lots of public school and national school that is quite good. Here, we have collected some of the best international and national plus schools in East Jakarta:

1. Jakarta Indonesia Korean School

It was established in 1975 and started with only approx. 25 students at the beginning. As the students kept increasing every year, the governments gave a license for this school as an international school. It is a South Korean international school in East Jakarta. The curriculum is based on National Revised Curriculum 2015.  There are coding classes, Korea Language classes, English education, core competency-centered curriculum for future human resources development, etc. The facilities inside this school including a playground, swimming pool, tennis court, parking lot, library, English Room, Music Room, stationary, etc. The curriculum is developed to fulfill the core abilities that are needed in the future, such as self-management, creativity, information process ability, global citizenship, and communicative ability.

2. Anglo Chinese School (ACS)

ACS Jakarta is an International Baccalaureate World School and an authorized Cambridge Centre offering a world-standard education to children from 3 – 18. The mission is to provide holistic education, but also instill Christian values to develop the character of each student and at the same time to bring out the potential in every student to the best. It was formerly known as Sekolah Tiara Bangsa located in Cibubur. Then, in 2002, the school did a partnership with Anglo Chinese School in Singapore to provide National Plus School. 

ACS Jakarta is a selective K – 12 schools for academically promising students, to provide them with success for the future. There are four houses provided for each student which are Budi Utomo, Kartini, Oldham, and Thoburn. Since it is a National Plus school, Bahasa Indonesia and religion classes are taught in Indonesia. The rest will be taught in English. Children opt to select religion classes such as Moslem, Christian, or Catholic classes. The facilities provided are five tennis courts, one big soccer field, two small soccer fields, an indoor sports hall, and swimming pools. Other facilities like two basketball courts, a volleyball court, a gymnasium, six badminton courts, laboratory, art room, library, music room, and ICT also provided by the school.

3. Jakarta Islamic School (JISc)

Jakarta Islamic School was built to fulfill the needs of children to have a strong Islamic foundation and global insights. At first, people doubted this school since the building is quite humble. As time goes by, by the tireless efforts of Mam Fifi and teachers, parents began to see the growth of their children in terms of English and Islamic Religion. In 2019, the total students studying in the JISC constitution reached the number of 2,600. The teaching method adopted from various countries such as Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore. JISc implements the national curriculum. The school provides education from primary, kindergarten, nursery, secondary, and boarding.

4. Global Islamic School (GIS CONDET)

Global Islamic School is located in Condet Raya, East Jakarta. This school is an International school that implements the Islamic foundation as the basic and principles of cultures in the school. Thus, the teaching is based on Al Qur’an & As Sunnah. The character that is aimed to have in each of the students is to be independent, responsible, and caring. 

Like any international school, GIS has plenty of extracurricular activities for its students. The pupil can join vocal, drum, saxophone, band, futsal, badminton, violin, keyboard, guitar, swimming, robotic, taekwondo, karate, manga, fashion, computer, dance, and basket.
