The nearest shopping center would be Epicentrum Walk, a modern shopping center, quite small, with some affordable restaurants (Asian food), a bar, a well-stocked supermarket (Farmer’s Market), and an XXI cinema. There is also another interesting mall nearby which is Plaza Festival. It's a middle-class mall with a variety of cheap shops, a Matahari department store, cafés and restaurants (including fast food like McDonald’s, A&W, Pizza Hut). By taking a 10-minute trip with the car, you can conveniently go to larger and more sophisticated malls, such as Kota Kasablanka, Ambassador, Kuningan City, and Lotte Avenue. For groceries, you can go to Farmer’s Market in Epicentrum Walk, Lotte Mart in Kuningan City, and Transmart Carrefour in ITC Kuningan.
Restaurants & Bars
You will find the nearest restaurants within Epicentrum Walk and Pasar Festival. Most of them present Indonesian cuisines for a decent price (around IDR80,000 for a meal). If you're looking for Western cuisines, you can go to a bar and resto, Aphrodite. It's only a 5-minute car ride from the apartment's location. A better option for optimal satisfactory would be Bluegrass, located on the ground floor of Bakrie tower. A bit further from the apartment, you can go to Setiabudi One which is a food court with a large variety of restaurants and coffee shops: Gula Merah, Dapur Sunda, Burger King, Starbucks, Duck King, etc.
For nightlife activities, you can go to the nearest bars from The Wave, which are expat bars called Aphrodite and Liquid Exchange. Both are quite popular around the expat community. For more enjoyable places that offer exciting nightlife activities, you can go to Bauhaus 1933, which is a bar with a classic western vibe for around IDR19.000 with online transportations services. Other places that offer the same amount of excitement are the clubs and bars around SCBD.
The Wave (Coral & Sand) is about 5 minutes away from Jalan Rasuna Said, one of the main thoroughfares of Jakarta. From there, you can go rather easily to South, Central or North Jakarta. You can also catch Jalan Gatot Subroto to go West or East. Rasuna Said is congested most of the day, and particularly in the morning and evening, at rush hours.
