1. Rachel House Foundation
Rachel House FoundationOfficially established on October 12th, 2006, Yayasan Rumah Rachel, translated as Rachel House Foundation aims to provide specialized medical or palliative care to the children from marginalized communities living with serious illnesses such as cancer and HIV AIDS. Palliative care itself is an approach to improve patients’ and their families’ quality of life. As a pioneer of palliative care, they believe that no child should ever have to live or die in pain.
Some high-skilled nurses are selected to do home-based care to the children that are coming from marginalized communities in Jakarta all free of charge. This foundation also educates people in local communities about palliative care skills. In addition, they also invite people to know more about providing care for those needing help. As it develops for years, this organization has helped more than 500 children in Indonesia.
You can ask any question to Rachel House and start registering yourself as a volunteer. With a minimum of three until six months of volunteering, they accept some positions. For example translator or interpreter; graphic designer; event organizer; database and library admin; IT; copywriter or editor; photographer or videographer; psychologist; patient and family support volunteer; and public relations and communications volunteer. Otherwise, you could also donate, become a partner, refer patients, and work in the office.

2. Yayasan Anyo Indonesia (YAI)
YAI or Yayasan Anyo Indonesia (Anyo Indonesia Foundation) is a non-governmental organization that was established in Jakarta, 27th June 2012. This foundation is formed by Sabar Manullang. It is named Anyo in honor of Andrew Maruli David Manullang, the son of Mr. Sabar who passed away from leukemia on December 7th, 2008.
Thus, YAI is aimed to continue Anyo’s spirit and help Indonesian children from underprivileged families to fight against cancer. Therefore, this organization asks people to help children and ease their families’ burden.
YAI also becomes a member of Childhood Cancer International (CCI). It is an organization of parents around the world whose children suffer from cancer. So, YAI facilitates Rumah Anyo, the temporary shelter for children suffering from cancer. Those children are from other regions of Indonesia that come to Jakarta to get treatment or are hospitalized in the hospitals in Jakarta.
Other than that, YAI also invites speakers to educate people in Rumah Anyo about cancer and other knowledge of health. They also accept any invitation from some communities to talk about cancer free of charge.
They accept volunteers to do some campaign work or events to share cancer awareness. You can register yourself as a volunteer to translate their books or join as a volunteer member of the event organizing committee. Some of the campaigns that have been done are Anyo Gold Ribbon Configuration 2018 and Anyo Run 2018.

3. Indonesian Childhood Cancer Foundation (YOAI)
A group of parents whose children recover from cancer established this foundation on 24th May 1993. So, they believe that every child with cancer deserves access to the best possible treatment and care. Therefore, Indonesian Childhood Cancer Foundation or in Indonesian is YOAI (Yayasan Onkologi Anak Indonesia) aims to assist the government in developing health care for children with cancer in Indonesia and raise community awareness to childhood cancer.
They have a Gold Ribbon Program which offers six sub-programs consisting: support of medical expenses; organizing cancer camp; counseling; developing an integrated children ward; enhancing public awareness; and fostering relations with national and international agencies/institutions. For supporting the children with cancer, YOAI cooperates with several hospitals in Jakarta. For instance, RSUPN dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo, RS Kanker “Dharmais”, and RSUPN Fatmawati. If you are ready to give back, they are welcome for volunteers.
There are two types of volunteering which are permanent and temporary. To become a volunteer, both permanent and temporary, there is no need for terms and conditions. So, they accept everyone and all the volunteers will become the Family Supporting Group (FSG). You can join them on certain events such as The International Childhood Cancer Day, CANCER CAMP, FUN BIKE, or FUN WALK, and so on. Otherwise, you could also donate by holding a charity event or conducting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support the children with cancer.
