1. Location of Nyang Nyang Beach

Nyang Nyang Beach is located on the southern island of Bali, precisely on Jl. Uluwatu, Br. Karang Boma Service, Pecatu, Kuta Badung, Bali 80364. In addition, this beach is very close to the Uluwatu Temple in Bali. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of the favorite tourist attractions for domestic tourists while on vacation on the island of Bali.

2. How to Get to This Beach

If you live in the Uluwatu area, you can rent a scooter and drive to Nyang Nyang Beach. The time taken was not so long. Meanwhile, if you come from Kuta, Seminyak, or Canggu, the journey takes approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

3. Entrance

There are two different entry points to reach Nyang Nyang Beach, the east entrance (Nunggalan Beach) and the west entrance.

West Entrance

The easiest way to descend to the beach is through the west entrance as there is a newly constructed road leading from the top of the cliff to the shoreline. Given that the road is very steep, you can walk or use a scooter. If you use a car, then you have to leave your vehicle at the top of the hill and walk.

Once there, there is a small ticket counter where you have to stop and pay an entrance fee to access the beach. It costs only by voluntary donation. So, around IDR 5,000 per person is acceptable.

East Entrance

The east entrance (now called Pantai Nunggalan on Google Maps) is located in front of a hotel and you can safely park your vehicle in the parking lot for free. From here, follow the path along the right side of the hotel and when you reach the fork in the track, take the path to the right that will eventually reach the shoreline.

The walk down the cliff to get to the beach takes about fifteen to twenty minutes. The stairs in this area are quite steep and some parts are very rocky. So, make sure to wear comfortable and appropriate footwear.

In addition, you will find small stalls above and below the cliff selling snacks, water, and coconut. Of course, you will really need it because you feel thirsty after going down to Nyang Nyang Beach and back again.

4. Best Time to Visit

If you want to visit Nyang Nyang Beach, it’s better to visit in the morning. On the plus side, the sun isn’t too hot yet and you can enjoy a few hours on the beach to yourself without anyone else around. Moreover, its location facing east is perfect for watching the sunrise.

If you decide to visit in the afternoon, consider staying around the beach until the sun goes down. It usually starts setting at 6 pm. Guaranteed you will get a beautiful view and make you very impressed!

5. Activities You Can Do

Your tiredness will pay off after arriving at the beach. You will find views of the high seas connecting the coast with the Indian Ocean on this beach. Lots of tourists come here to surf. Indeed, this beach is suitable for surfing activities because it has big waves.

Besides surfing, you can swim or just sit back and look at the sea view with the waves crashing. You can also play with your pets and walk along the white sand.

6. Things You Need to Pay Attention to

Before visiting here, there are several important things that you need to pay attention to. Check out the points below.

Many steep stairs

To go down the cliff, there are many stairs. The slope of the stairs is quite extreme and you have to be extra careful when going down these stairs. There are approximately 550 steps, of course, the number of steps is still an estimate. Because the amount is sufficient, you have to prepare your stamina and make sure your body is in good health.

Use a vehicle in good condition

If you are planning a vacation to Nyang Nyang Beach, you should use a vehicle in good condition. The roads that you have to take are limestone dirt roads with rocky conditions scattered on the streets. If you are not sure to drive in rocky road conditions, you should look for car rental services in Bali.

Avoid the rainy season

Because the access road to this beach is quite steep, it is highly recommended to avoid the rainy season if you are planning a vacation here. After passing through the limestone road, at the end of the road, there is an old hut. In front of this old hut, there is a steep cliff that you must pass to get to Nyang Nyang Beach.
