1. Chatelier

Chatelier is yet another Japonesque tea cafe with a stylish, wooden exterior interspersed with a predominantly black accent. The inside is dimly lighted, giving it a cozy and intimate atmosphere, which makes it perfect for friends or partners looking for a temporary escape from the Jakarta noise. True to its name, Chatelier is a tea Atelier where tea lovers can gather and learn about tea varieties, from the lesser-known Okuseto green tea to the renowned Silver Needle. 2. HOURS Coffee and More

HOURS Coffee & More is not just a place to hang out and have afternoon tea, but it’s also a haven for digital nomads who want to enjoy some time alone with their laptops. HOURS is also very Instagenic, with distinctive retro vibes that will make you want to take selfies all the time. Whether you’re alone or in a group, it’s the place to go when you need to present an impressive image of Jakarta.

Their selection of artisanal teas will certainly impress you. You have the usual white tea with some variations (infused by Persian pink rose and Egyptian basil, wow!), black tea perfumed with bergamot, and rooibos tea with an assortment of notes. But our eyes immediately jumped at their renditions of Japanese tea. For starters, they have the aptly-named Momotaro tea, which is Japanese sencha with peach infusions. Another particularly delectable treat is the Ume Ume, yet another sencha, this time with festive Japanese spring flavors like ume, cherry blossoms, and cheerful pink konpeito (Japanese hard candy).
