Panaragan, Bogor Tengah Subdistricts

Panaragan is a subdistrict located within the Bogor Tengah (Central Bogor) district of Bogor City, West Java, Indonesia. It is one of the eleven administrative villages (kelurahan) in Bogor Tengah. Historically, the area of Panaragan was settled by former Mataram Sultanate soldiers from Ponorogo in 1629, who were tasked with monitoring VOC movements, chosen for Bogor's strategic location. The name 'Panaragan' is derived from 'Panaraga', an older spelling of Ponorogo.

Panaragan is located in Bogor Tengah, a central district within Bogor City. The subdistrict has road access, with a reported distance of approximately 1 km to the Bogor Tengah district capital and 2 km to the Bogor City center. Bogor City is situated approximately 60 km south of Jakarta. Bogor Tengah is well-served by public transportation, including angkot (public minivan) routes. Bogor Station, serving KRL Commuterline's Red Line, is also located within Bogor City.
